Where Copilot for Sales and Finance actually earns its keep
Copilot licenses get bought in bulk. Adoption that actually changes how people work is rarer — and the gap between the two is where most rollouts quietly stall.
The rollouts that stick share one trait: they start from a real, painful task instead of a feature list. A seller who avoids updating the CRM because logging a call properly eats twenty minutes. A finance team that reconciles the same intercompany entries every month-end close. Copilot for Sales drafting that pipeline update from an email thread, or Copilot for Finance flagging reconciliation exceptions before close — that's a rollout people notice, because it removes a task they already hated doing.
The rollouts that stall usually skip straight to the general-purpose assistant and expect habits to change on their own. They don't, not without a specific workflow, a champion on the team who uses it daily, and a data foundation clean enough that the answers Copilot gives are actually right. Get the use case and the data right first — the adoption numbers follow from there, not the other way round.
